CIRCADIAN METABOLISM AND CHRONIC DISEASE MANAGEMENT
The Role of Stress, Meal Timing and Physical Activity
27 OCTOBER | 3 NOVEMBER | 10 NOVEMBER
Presented by international natural supplements expert, educator and researcher, Dr Thomas Guilliams (US) PhD.
Chronic disease is characterized by a gradual diminishing of the metabolic reserves that keep cells and tissues resilient against wear and dysfunction. Maintaining, and especially rebuilding, these reserves require that each system is working in optimal synchrony - soemthing that cannot be accomplished without circadian coordination. This series will outline the fundamentals of circadian metabolism (central and peripheral clocks), with an emphasis on its modulation from the HPA axis, stress, meal timing and physical activity. We will discuss the mechanisms that link these systems and discuss the evidence for how modulating these lifestyle inputs can benefit chronic disease outcomes.
This virtual workshop series will be presented over 3 weeks.
WEEK 1: Circadian Mechanisms and the HPA Axis
WEEK 2: Circadian Mechanisms and the influence of meal timing and physical activity
WEEK 3: Intervention Strategies for Circadian Re-synchrony
